DONATE

Your gift helps a neighbor remain housed, connected, and secure.

Community donations allow FISH to respond when rent, a utility bill, an urgent car repair or medical prescription becomes an immediate crisis.

Gifts from individual community members are an important source of revenue. But FISH also depends upon support by community institutions—foundation grant makers, supporting non-profits (like The Closet), businesses, and churches. By contributing to FISH efforts to support people in need in our community, these institutions demonstrate their commitment to making the Herndon-Reston community a better place for people of all income levels to live.

Herndon-Reston FISH, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(cK3) organization.

Small gifts combine to solve urgent problems.

Approximately three-quarters of those FISH helps have very low incomes and little or no savings. Timely assistance can prevent a temporary setback from becoming a prolonged crisis.

FISH MADE A DIFFERENCE

Support helped a family through a medical crisis.

Laura reduced her work hours to care for her husband after kidney failure and a coma. After exhausting her leave, she fell behind on rent and utilities and sometimes struggled to buy food. FISH provided $1,650 for rent, electricity, and groceries while she pursued longer- term benefits and nursing assistance.
